The year is 20XX, a new form of Virtual Reality has been released to the public. Virtual Reality Space Immersion (VRSI): Cyberspace. With the release of this new method, follows a suspicious rise in users falling into incurable comatose states. Dubbed by the press, "VR Syndrome." When his brother, a detective, falls victim to VR Syndrome, it's up to Caleb and his friends to figure out the truth behind these comas.

Homicide detectives Teddy and Angelo are tasked with discovering the killer behind this suspicious string of murders. The only connection they have is at each scene a message is left behind: “Happy Endings Only Exist In Fairytales.” Each crime scene appears to be set up in such a way that resembles old fairytales, with a gruesome twist. Will these two detectives find the truth behind the killings? Or will they themselves become a fairytale?

Especially after moving into an apartment with Hanlet, the unsociable college drop-out. He ends up joining “The Lonely Hearts Club,” a group of boys who formed a club together as a way to avoid joining clubs. After a run in with the school delinquent, he suddenly shows up at their club meeting room! What will happen when Haruki catches the delinquent’s eye?
